Can I edit the Windows 2000 registry from DOS? When I attempt to log on, I end up in some sort
of repeating loop even though sign in is validated and excepted. At some point the system indicates
there is insufficient pagefile size as well. I've tried the Windows 2000 recovery tool as well as
the repair option with no luck.
I HATE when that happens! The recovery tool is barely adequate in my opinion. When confronted with
really nasty startup problems I always pull out my secret weapon: ERD Commander 2000 from
Winternals (www.winternals.com). ERD (Emergency Recovery
Disk) is a real recovery console and has saved my fanny on multiple occasions. It'll take care of
your machine.
