Can I find the NETBIOS name of a desktop by referencing only the user ID?

Is there a tool that can find the NETBIOS name of a desktop by referencing only the user ID? For example, the whois.exe is great for finding who is logged onto a machine by only knowing the NETBIOS name.
There is a possible answer to this in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;175062 -- by auditing logs it may be possible to accomplish the same effect depending on how your network is set up. There are third-party tools for remote log audition that can help you accomplish this (see http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pstools.shtml for some such tools).
