Does Windows 2000 support APM or ACPI?

I am evaluating the hardware in our office to ensure it is compatible with Win2k, and I noticed that some of the motherboards report Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) and some report Advanced Power Management (APM). Will APM suffice the ACPI requirement of Win2k?
It doesn't exactly work that way. Windows 2000 supports either APM or ACPI. If you install the operating system on a computer that doesn't support ACPI, then Setup installs the APM hardware abstraction layer (HAL). If you install the operating system on a computer that does support ACPI, then Setup installs the ACPI HAL. Windows 2000 works fine on computers that only support APM.
