I have been trying to establish a Windows 2000 server-based domain. My client uses Windows 2000 Professional. When I connect both computers, I could see both computers in my client's Network Neighborhood, but I cannot access the server. From the server, the client is not even visible. I checked it before and after creating Active Directory. Error message: "Your domain either doesn't exist or cannot be connected." What should I do?
My first guess is network connectivity -- make sure that your Win2k Pro client is using the same protocol (probably TCP/IP) as the Win2k server. Ensure that they can ping each other, and that all IP address settings (like default gateways and DNS) are correct.
