Explorer pop-up window interfering with batch file

Hi, Laura. I am running a Windows 2000 PC that logs on to a Novell 5 server. Whenever I map a drive (button or DOS), I get a pop-up Explorer window if it completes successfully. This is interfering with a batch file I am trying to run, because the batch file perceives the pop-up window as an "open file" -- it cannot then disconnect and proceed without user intervention. Please advise.

Without knowing the specifics of what the batch file is attempting to do, my first advice would be to add the Resource Kit "kill" command-line utility to the batch file. You can then kill whatever process name is running (cmd.exe or explorer.exe, for example), which might allow the batch file to proceed correctly.
