I have a failure of the XP boot resulting in the following message:
On boot up, the XP logo is displayed then it goes to a blue screen displaying and advice message and the following error.
*** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902fa,0xf9eb1700,0xf9eb1400,0xf96aqebef)
*** ntfs.sys - address f96aebef base at f964a000, datestamp 3d6de5c1

If I try to do a recovery console repair it still falls back to this message. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks.
The Stop 0x24 message indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. A similar Stop message, 0x23, exists for the file allocation table (FAT16 or FAT32) file systems. If you can access the drive via the recovery console, run the CHKDSK tool which detects and attempts to resolve file system structural corruption. At the command prompt type:
chkdsk drive: /f
