Getting error message in the Internet Information Manager when trying to start IIS on Win2k Pro

When I try to start IIS on Win2k Pro, in the Internet Information Manager I get this error, "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." How can I fix this?
That's a tough one to answer, because the error message is so vauge. All we know is that, for some reason, it's failing. Generally the best way to start troubleshooting these types of issues is to (in this order): 1) re-install the most recent service pack, then 2) uninstall and reinstall IIS. Good luck with it!
