Going for A+, then my MCSE. Do you think I need Network+ too?

I am studying for my A+. Then I am thinking of doing MCSE, but I'm not sure if I should do Network+. I am very confused as to if it's worth doing or not as I also want to get my MCSE as quickly as possible. I am 37 yrs old, and feel like my age is against me. So I don't want to waste time studying for any certification that I might not need.

At 37, you're in the prime age range for most IT professionals, so don't give that too much weight. If you want to be a network administrator, MCSE or otherwise, Network+ is an excellent next exam for you to pursue. The more you know about networking in general if you pursue the MCSE, the better equipped you'll be to deal with a lot of the information related to that program.

I recommend A+ and Network+ as good general kick-off certifications for all prospective system and network administrators nowadays, no matter which platform they seek to learn after that.

Good luck!
