Hiding a computer from My Network Places

How do I prevent a computer from showing up in My Network Places?
There are several ways to do this depending on your ultimate goals. If you want to bar the system from showing up in My Network Places as a way of preventing file shares, you can simply uncheck Client for Microsoft Networks in the network stack. The computer can still be accessed for shares by using the machine's IP address in an UNC (i.e., 192.168.0.2).
