How can I apply Group Policy for individual users and computers? I could under Windows NT by using the system policy editor, selecting the users or computers from a list, then define the policies before saving the file in the netlogon directory.
Can you tell me how to do this in Windows 2000? And is it possible to apply policies for specific users on standalone workstations running Windows 2000 and XP Pro? I want to restrict my users, but I can only apply the policies for every user on the computer.
I've found a very good article that walks you through how group policies work in Win2K (and makes comparisons to NT 4.0 throughout): http://www.win2000mag.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=9108
Generally, everything you were capable of doing in NT can also be done in Win2K, although the procedure is slightly different: in Win2K, you use Active Directory to manage policies for groups of computers.
