How can I force one PC out of a group to shut down throught the network?
I have a small home network of three PCs and one laptop (connecting wireless), all using Windows XP SP1. One of these PCs is sharing an Internet ADSL connection with the others. Is any way I can force one of the PCs (not who is sharing Internet connection)to shutdown, through the network?
Windows XP includes the "shutdown" command as a part of the operating system. Use the following parameters to shut down a remote computer: shutdown.exe –m \\computername. (This assumes that you have administrative rights to the remote computer.) For a full syntax, type "shutdown.exe /?" from the command line.
