How can I hide desktop folders and icons?

I would like to hide desktop folders and icons and also break the screensaver password in Windows 2000. Do you know how I can do this?

There are two ways to hide desktop folders: via the registry or by using Group Policy. I suspect that you don't have Group Policy and are interested in the registry-method. See the following link for step-by-step: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/7/. As for breaking in to locked screensavers, sorry, but I can't help you with that.
