The best thing you can do to prepare for the workplace is to look for internships or a part-time on-campus job where you can start digging into the work-a-day world of networking as soon as possible. I'd urge you to work at least during the summers (and investigate your college or university's summer placement and internship programs immediately, if you haven't done so already), if you can't or don't want to find a part-time job while you're studying. This will not only help you better focus your upper level course selections, it will also help you try the job out before you have to jump into it full-time.
