I have been in the IT industry for a couple of years now and I am trying to figure out what the next step is to make myself more marketable. Do you think certifications are the way to go or do you think a BA specializing in the IT field is a better alternative for success in the future in this field?
With only a couple of years of on the job experience, a degree is still probably worth more than a certification (unless you're talking about a heavy-duty cert like the Cisco CCIE) could ever be. A BA, BS, or BE (bachelor's in Engineering) in a computer-related field is probably a great way for you to improve your job prospects and to endow you with the tools for a lifetime of further learning in this ever-changing and dynamic field. Good luck!
