How do I map users' home folders in Windows Explorer?

I have a standalone (member) Windows 2000 server with 25 Windows XP desktops connected. DNS is installed but not Active Directory, as there are some very intricate problems to be resolved first. This server will be used to host a proprietary application.

When setting up users, I have filled in where their profiles and home directories are. The respective folders get created on first logon, but I cannot get their "HomeDir" to be mapped in Windows Explorer on their desktops. Can you please give me a hint as to how I can get this to work? Thanks in advance.
I assume that you're configuring users' profiles and homedirs on the local computers, since you're not using AD. Use the "net" command to map the users' home folders in Windows Explorer: net use h: /home.
