- Open Control Panel, then Network Connections.
- Right-click on your network card properties (probably labeled Local Area Connection) and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
- If Obtain An IP Address Automatically is selected, then you're using DHCP (automatic addressing, not static). If an IP address is filled in, then you have an static IP address.
