How does ARP software treat two different responses for a single request?

Suppose a machine implementing address resolution protocol gets two different responses for a single ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) request. How does the ARP software react?
ARP entries are stored in cache on a first-in, first-out basis. Ordinarily, ARP table entries are flushed after two minutes; however, if a new ARP packet is received with newer information that conflicts with an existing cache entry, the outdated entry is immediately overwritten with the new information.
