The A+ is considered a useful entry-level certification for PC technicians, help desk personnel and most other junior IT staff. Thus, it's a good way to get a technical "foot in the door" for a job in IT. That said, it's also a junior enough credential that you can't assume that just because you get an A+ it will automatically lead you to a job. Nevertheless, it seems like a good place to start, especially if you're preparing to climb the first rung into IT employment and are indeed seeking an entry-level position.
