Is the MCSE or the CCNA recommended for college students who have just completed A+ and N+?
The CCNA is probably a better fit, not just because it's a single exam that concentrates primarily on network infrastructure topics, but also because it's more network-focused than the 6- or 7-exam MCSE. That said, there's no reason why you couldn't start with the CCNA (after which you'll want to look at other, more advanced certs in the Cisco programs) and then pursue the MCSA/MCSE sequence next. And don't overlook the new Microsoft certs, either: They'll be taking over the MS cert world in 2007 or so, when Vista Server ships and the new generation of MCP exams gets fully fleshed out for the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) programs.
