Is there a guide to help me configure Win 98 and Win XP on my home network?

I've had problems with getting a Win 98 and two Win XP systems networked so that I can share storage, printing, scanning, etc. Since each of the generations of Windows has different methods of configuring sharing, is there a link to a single document that can serve as my authority on completely configuring my home network?
