Is there a way to extend Active Directory users and computers to display additional attributes?

Is there a way to extend Active Directory users and computers to display additional attributes? Namely I'd like to see Employee ID in the Organization tab of a user's property.
Yes, you can add attributes by extending the schema. However, schema changes should not be taken lightly since they cannot be undone after making the change. The procedure is faily complex, but you can find the details in Chapter 4 of the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.
