Is there a way to lower the priority of software inventory to decrease CPU utilization?

We are currently running SMS 2.0 SP3 in our environment and have recently started implementing Windows XP as our desktop operating system. Since XP is supposed to be better at managing multipriority processes, is there a way to lower the priority of software inventory to decrease CPU utilization?


I've never heard of anyone doing this, but you might try to decrease the priority of the SINV.exe process for when it runs.
