Name resolution problem on office VPN

I have two small peer-to-peer LANs (Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro mixed) connected by two Netgear FVS318 VPN firewall routers. The VPN connection works fine and I can see all the computers on the system via Network Neighborhood. I can then click on any of those computers and see all their drives.

The problem is that if I click on any drive listed, the system hangs for three or four minutes and then reports back the "the specified network name is no longer available." If I browse from office 2 to office 1, all is OK. If I browse from office 1 to office 2, I get that message on every machine there. Anything you can suggest would be VERY appreciated.
This sounds like a name resolution issue. On your VPN clients in office 1, verify that all DNS and WINS (if you use it) have been correctly identified under <Connection Name>-- Properties, Networking tab, TCP/IP properties.
