New certifications such as e-commerce engineer or .Net engineer

With the proliferation of new server types that MS is putting out, (portal server, commerce server et al) will we see some other certification classifications coming from Redmond such as e-commerce engineer, .Net engineer, etc.

I am sure that the MCSD program will get a major re-make to emphasize .NET. You can already get a MCP+Site Building credential from Microsoft, and they may or may not update that to include new exams like 70-230 (Biztalk Server EE). One way or another, though, I agree with you that it's just a matter of time before some of these new technologies get their own certifications, or become part of an existing certification. Reading Microsoft's mind can be kind of tricky, so I will just say it is highly likely that this will happen in the next 12 months.
