Every time I access Outlook Express (XP), I get an error "Your Internet connection has been lost." But, this is not true; my Internet connection remains on. I have no problem using Outlook (Office 2000).
First, I would start with checking your Outlook Express connection settings to make sure that match what you are using for Outlook 2000. The second thing I would do is update and run a virus scan. There are a number of Trojan Horse programs that use fake error messages to trick users into revealing their user names and passwords (Spartan Horse comes to mind).
