I have two HDD on my system. The first had two primary partitions, with WinXP Pro installed on the first one, the second RAW. On the second HDD, I installed Fedora Core 2, and afterward, could not boot Windows. I have made an emergency boot diskette to boot Windows but want to fix my MBR and boot partition so they work again. How do I fix them? I've tried the recovery console, commands fixmbr and fixboot, but that didn't help. Help?
This is a known issue with Fedora Core, (yes, Open Source software has bugs) and a solution is available at http://lwn.net/Articles/86835/
