In Win2k, I have the option to customize the Start Menu. I chose to "Show Favorites Links." I have Tweak UI installed. I cannot see the links listed in Start --> Menu --> Favorites (they say empty). If I go into the browser or Windows Explorer, the Favorites links are present and usable. For the record, Tweak UI is not set to block the Favorites in the Start Menu, but I mentioned it above to enter the variable that it exists and could be pertinent. I'm wondering if something was changed in the registry inadvertently and where that key setting is to take corrective action.
It's certainly possible that TweakUI may be a component here, and that temporarily uninstalling it may be a quick acid test to rule out this possibility. Try right clicking on the Favorites icon in the Start menu and choosing either the Open or Explore option. Check to be sure that the directory listed is the same directory used by IE. It should be C:Documents and Settingsusernamefavorites.
