Using DOS extenders on NT-kernel-based OSes

Is there any way to let those applications written with watcom C++ and using DOS extenders, like dos4gw.exe, to work on NT-kernel-based OSes like NT, Win2k and XP?
Wow, a real "blast from the past" question! DOS extenders use the DPMI specification to access memory great than 640K. As long as the extenders use the DPMI 0.9 specification, they should run. If they use DPMI 1.0, they will not run.
