What IM solution is best for users that don't sit at the same computer the whole day?

I am interested in implemeting an enterprise IM system. We have about 20 users and they move around a lot. They do not sit at the same computer the whole day. Are there any specific messaging solutions that I should consider?
I would consider using Groove (www.groove.com), although I don't know how well it handles roaming profile information.
