What are the minimum user rights needed?

I have computers that are publicly exposed and I need to make file security as tight as possible, but to preserve system functionality.
- What are the minimum user rights that I have to set to system drive?
- Can I make system drive invisible, but to preserve system functionality including using programs in the Program Files folder.
- Does system group need to have full access to all files?
Microsoft has included several security templates that will help you lock down your systems quickly. They can be found in the C:WindowsSecurityTemplates folder and can be configured in the MMC.
