What certs do you recommend for someone just starting out in network administration?

After reading your reply to the question of what certifications you would recommend to someone who has moved to the area of management from a technical position, I was wondering what certifications you might recommend for someone just starting out in network administration?
The general approach is remarkably similar:
  1. Check out introductory networking and Internet certs at Brainbench or U2Test.

  2. Move onto the Network+ and i-Net+ CompTIA exams.

  3. Pick an operating system (NetWare, Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.) and start climbing their network admin certification ladders.

  4. If that's not enough, consider jumping next onto Cisco for networking infrastructure certs, or protocol analysis certs for forensics, security, management and troubleshooting.
