I have taken the 210, 215, 216, 217, plus the Exchange 2000 and SQL. I now need to take my last class towards an MCSE 2000. I would like to do programming SQL as my second elective. However I was told by my instructor that I can only do a designing class, for example, Active Directory. Is this correct?

To obtain a Windows 2000 MCSE, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. One core exam on client operating systems: 70-210 or 70-270. You've taken 70-210.
  2. Two core exams on networking systems: 70-215, 70-216, and 70-217. You've taken 70-215, 70-216, and 70-217.
  3. One core design exam: take one of 70-219, 70-220, 70-221, 70-226, 70-297, or 70-298. You've taken none of these
  4. Two electives. These include 70-028 and 70-029 plus 70-228 and 70-229 all on SQL Server; I assume you've taken one of these.

    They also include 70-224 and 70-225 on MS Exchange 2000; I assume you've taken one of these. As you can tell the only category you don't have covered is the core design exam, which means you must now take one of those aforementioned exams (70-219, 70-220, 70-221, 70-226, 70-297 or 70-298) to meet the MCSE requirements.
