A certification in Oracle Financials will, of course, appeal only to organizations and companies that use it--but that doesn't mean you shouldn't pursue that certification. That said, having looked over the Oracle cert paths and options and the many courses at Oracle University that touch on Oracle Financials, I don't see a certification that focuses purely and only on that Oracle module--in effect, I believe it's not possible to get certified in that subject from Oracle. I verified this by checking the complete list of Oracle exams available at Prometric and found none that mention or focus on Oracle Financials. Thus, you can certainly get lots of training on using Oracle Financials from Oracle Univ, but it doesn't look like a certification on that module/product is possible.
You may want to consider the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credential from www.isaca.org, or any of the Institute of Internal Auditors
(www.theiia.org) credentials, especially the Certified Internal Auditor
(CIA) or the Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) certs. All of these are well-known and well-recognized. Combined with training in Oracle Financials, they might take you exactly where you want to go. Good luck with your career planning and development.
