What is the best way to deploy the SMS client to remote users?

We have 40 users with company issued Windows 2000 laptops who work out their homes. Most of these users are dialing in via RAS over 28.8 connections. The laptops are all in our Windows 2000 domain. We would like to install the SMS client on them to get reports on patch status. What is the best way to deploy the SMS client to them? Can I install the client via CD and then have them join the SMS site when they VPN into the network?
Yes, you can do this. See the SMS 2003 Client FAQ for more information: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sms/sms2003/techfaq/tfaq03.mspx.
