Because you've already finished the expiring exams for NT 4.0 MCSE, go ahead and take Proxy 2.0 for your first elective. Then, if you take one of the elective core exams, aka "Designing" exams, you can get your NT 4.0 MCSE and knock off one of the requirements for your Windows 2000 upgrade to that credential. The relevant exam numbers are 70-219 (Directory Services), 70-220 (Network Security), 70-221 (Network Infrastructure), and 70-226 (Highly available Web solutions. After that, take 70-240 (if you qualify). If you pass, you'll need only one more exam to finish your upgrade to the Windows 2000 MCSE. This could involve as few as 3 more exams to get completely caught up, and is why I recommend the course of action I do. After that, you can consider going after Cisco or some other more network infrastructure oriented certification if that's what really captures your interest.
