Which Microsoft certifications are best for becoming a .NET professional?

I want to become a .NET certified professional. Which Microsoft cert(s) will be good for me to obtain? I see a lot of .NET certs out there with new and old versions. I want to write a newer version. Thanks for the help!

Go straight for the newest MCTS and MCPD certifications that include .NET coverage (you'll find pointers to these here). I'd recommend keeping an eye on new developments here, because .NET Framework 3.0 credentials should become available soon.
