Why does Win2k Pro reboot while installing software?

Are you aware of any problems with Norton Antivirus 2002/2003 and Windows 2000 Pro that would cause the PC to reboot spontaneously in the process of installing software or Service Packs? It also does it when removing/inserting USB for a digital camera.

Norton Antivirus installs a number of kernel-level drivers that would almost certainly contribute to such a problem. I have received many reports of heightened system instability due to many Symantec/Norton products.
