QUESTION POSED ON: 24 October 2002
We just migrated to Windows 2000. Phew, what a hassle! DNS is being handled by "Debian." When trying to do DCPROMO on our new second Win2k server, it says the domain cannot be contacted; it sees the domain and the domain sees the new server, but I cannot complete the AD! Please help.

Seeing the server just isn't enough. You have to make sure that all of the services have been properly registered in DNS. See KB article Q260371, Troubleshooting common Active Directory setup issues in Windows 2000. If you run NetDIAG.exe from the Support Tools on the Windows 2000 CD, you will get an excellent breakdown of the network condition of your domain controller.
