QUESTION POSED ON: 13 September 2004
I have a SMS2.0 SP5 site with many secondaries. Just recently I noticed that my package distributions to my distribution servers were going to the smspkgc$ share. I do not want my C drive to fill up. How do I specify only to use the smspkge$ share even though some other drives have more free space?

EXPERT RESPONSE
You need to remove the old distribution point through the SMS Administrator console, and then create a new one, but this time forcing the Distribution Point to use a share you generate. You can create any share you want and have SMS to utilize it as the Distribution Point folder. Here's more information on how to do this: http://myitforum.techtarget.com/articles/1/view.asp?id=6104.
