You can obtain an MCSE by completing all required exams as long as the
program remains active and the exams remain available. In plain English,
since Microsoft promises to give a year's notice before they discontinue any
active exams, this means you must finish all MCSE exams before the last
applicable required or elective exam is discontinued.
My guess is that you have at least a bit more than a year, probably more like two years, before this should be a real concern for the Windows 2000 MCSE. That said, why not finish as soon as you can, to get the best benefit from a credential that's bound to become obsolete in the next three or four years in any case?
Good luck with your remaining exams.
