QUESTION POSED ON: 16 August 2003
Our main site is in St. Louis (with two Win2000 domain controllers). We are upgrading a remote site with 12 users to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. We will create a new AD site for the remote location.

What steps do we need to take to build a new DC here in St. Louis, then move it physically to the new site? I understand that it can be a problem if not set up properly.

EXPERT RESPONSE
The issues will be in being able to locate the DC once it has been moved. You will want to make sure that the new site's IP subnet is properly added to the AD and assigned to the site. Make sure that the time zone is set properly on the machine prior to sending it and that the clock is synchronized.
