QUESTION POSED ON: 06 January 2004
Do you know of a policy that hides the network identification tab in Win2000? I'm trying to change the computer name of a Win2000 machine and add it to a domain. The PC is from another company, and I suspect that a policy has been implemented at the domain level of that company that hides the Network ID. Locally, I found the "Add Workstations to Domain" policy, but I don't think that is what has been implemented here.

EXPERT RESPONSE
This isn't a policy setting; this is because you're not logged in as the local administrator of the workstation. As soon as you log on as the local administrator for the workstation, you should be able to perform this step.
