QUESTION POSED ON: 20 January 2004 I just migrated my network printers from one print server to another. I need an efficient way to change all the users' computers to use the printers on the new print server. The IPs and ports are still the same; the only change is the server they are on now.

EXPERT RESPONSE
To do this with Group Policy, I could see a whirlwind cascade of .VBS logon scripts to try to make this happen. However, you can easily perform this function with Group Policy if you step up to a 3rd party tool. The guys at Autoprof.com have a tool called Profile Maker which adds the ability to dictate printer mappings thru Group Policy. It has a lot of other neat features too, but for what you want to do it may be the simplest route.
