Linux's new popularity noteworthy, but unlikely to smudge Windows

What does the recent outbreak of love for Linux mean to Microsoft? Not a whole lot in the short term, but penguin plans from Sun and IBM could throw a few kinks in Microsoft's plan for the software server market .

			This week's poll: Does Linux pose a real threat to Microsoft? Absolutely. Sun's and IBM's new Linux plans will make Linux a real player. Linux is picking up steam, but it will take years before Bill Gates needs to start sweatin' it. Linux will never be able to touch Windows. I'm really impressed with Linux -- I think it's got a place in our firm's future.
