Linux's new popularity noteworthy, but unlikely to smudge Windows

 Absolutely. Sun's and IBM's new Linux plans will make Linux a real player. 
 Linux is picking up steam, but it will take years before Bill Gates needs to start sweatin' it. 
 Linux will never be able to touch Windows.
