How all the issues will filter down to IT managers and administrators at the platform level is the subject of a recent five-part series on SearchWin2000.com: Coming to terms with compliance. In this comprehensive report, reporters Margie Semilof and Jennifer Lawinski take a critical look at the good, bad and superfluous elements of new compliance regulations as they relate to Windows IT departments. There are some findings that may surprise you, so be sure to take a look.
Compliance is also a focus of SearchWin2000.com's recent reorganization, which expands the site's coverage to include technology issues important to Windows network and department-level managers. Our idea is to supplement the site's pragmatic (and popular) tech tips and expert advice with more strategic articles written for IT professionals who design, manage and optimize the performance of their company's Windows infrastructure. Our management coverage will still provide all the technical details that geeks-in-charge love to read. But the slant will be less on fighting fires and more about constructing the sprinkler systems that stop the fires before they get out of control.
We'll be building out our new Windows IT management features over the coming months. If you have a specific area of interest, drop us a line and let us know.
