One exam that is being rewritten is "71-621: Upgrading Your Microsoft Certified Desktop Support (MCDST) Certification to a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or MCITP."
The other enterprise exam is "71-622: Pro: Supporting and Troubleshooting Applications on a Microsoft Windows Vista Client for Enterprise Support." It is also rewriting "71-623 Pro: Microsoft Desktop Support-Consumer," which is a more consumer-oriented exam.

Microsoft will add information in the area of application support, including 2007 Microsoft Office System, according to Rob Linsky, a senior product manager from Microsoft's Learning division.
In a notification to those who had already taken the beta exams, Microsoft said it was revising them "in the interest of producing a technically accurate exam and a consistent, meaningful credential." The reason for the rewrite is "to include coverage of several topics that were errantly left out of the original exam," Microsoft said.
Beta exams are free, but Microsoft is offering an exam voucher that can be used on final exams of these three beta exams or other related exams.
Ed Tittel, a certification expert in Red Rock, Texas, said Microsoft's revision of its Vista exams shouldn't pose any major problem to IT managers at this point. "It's still very early. There aren't that many people moving to Vista in a real meaningful way and it may even be a year before there is real interest," Tittel said. Windows Vista officially shipped in November, and many companies have not yet adopted it.
Those who have already taken these exams should receive a notice to take the new beta exam, giving them 72 hours to register for the exams before the general IT public can register, according to Microsoft.
Those who took the first beta for Exam 621 should receive an invitation for the new beta exam by March 22, with the beta starting on March 29. The actual exam will be available on May 17. Those who took the first beta for Exam 622 will receive an invitation on March 9, with the beta starting on March 16, and the actual exam will be available on May 10.
