To get the SP2 update, IT managers will have to click on the "updates are ready to install" notification, accept the end user license agreement and go through the Welcome screen. Or they can choose to use the SP2 blocker tool to disable delivery via Automatic Updates.

The service pack includes the customary hotfixes and offers IT managers "out-of-the-box" provisioning via Windows Deployment Services in such areas as remote booting and PXU boot support. Management Console 3.0, which simplifies administrative tasks through common navigation, menus, toolbars and workflow across a number of tools, is also included in SP2.
In addition, Windows Server 2003 SP2 has patched both R2 and non-R2 versions of Windows Server 2003, improved IPsec filter management, offers the Scalable Networking Pack to boost Windows Server 2003 workload performance and has Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 to connect to Wi-Fi hot spots.
