SQL Server 2008 pushed out to Q3 2008
Microsoft has put off the delivery of SQL Server 2008 by several months.
The next-generation database server is still expected to be part of the Windows Server 2008 launch event in late February. The actual delivery of the product, formerly code-named Katmai, was due out by the end of the first half of 2008.
Now a release candidate will be out in Q2 of this year. Release to manufacturing will be pushed to Q3, according to the Data Platform Insider, the SQL Server team blog.
SQL Server 2008 will include improvements to security, new policy-based management and business intelligence features.
