The company now offers two certifications: the VMware Certified Professional and the new VMware Certified Design Expert. While the former is aimed at a broad audience of partners, end users, resellers and consultants, the latter targets consultants and architects who require an advanced level of expertise.

The company is also offering an option to learn online. One of the three course requirements, VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure, required for its VMware Certified Professional, will be available via the Internet, the company said.
