Windows Vista and Office 2007 are nearing completion.
Microsoft released a new test build of its Windows Vista desktop operating system on Friday. Test build 5744 is now available for download. Windows Vista RC 1 was first released on September 1.
Microsoft on Friday told its beta testers that Office 2007 will be released to manufacturing within the next few weeks. More than 3 million testers installed beta 2 and later builds, Microsoft said.
Beta downloads of Office will officially end on October 25 and Microsoft's Betaplace Website will shut down on October 30 which will end the formal testing phase of Office 2007.
Both Vista and Office 2007 are expected to be available in late November for volume licensing customers.
